Three Rivers Artists Guild

Fine Art in beautiful Three Rivers, Michigan

Shows and events this weekend

Three Rivers Artists Guild members Brian Brook (metal sculpture) and Judi Brook (fiber arts) will be at the 17th annual Holiday Art Sale at Prudential Nursery in Vicksburg (13038 S 24th St.), 5-9pm Friday and 9am to 3pm on Saturday. At the sale there will be ceramics, jewelry, fiber art, metal art, stained glass, photography, watercolors, and other artwork for sale.

Also come see Brian Brook’s sculpture and the quilt designed by Joan Hector on Sunday at the Carnegie, at the opening party and reception from 2-4pm. The metal sculptors in the show and the River Country Quilters have created a lovely “Hard and Soft” show! See the Carnegie website for more information.

Guild member Christine Hartzell will have paintings in the “Painted Sanctuary” show as one of the 27 Plein Air Artists of West Michigan, at the Park Trades Center for the Kalamazoo Art Hop, Friday 5-9pm. All paintings in the show are done “en plein air” – outdoors – on site at preserves and land easements of the Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy, including the Three Rivers area preserves at Hidden Marsh Sanctuary (on Portage Ave.) and Spirit Springs Preserve (on Dutch Settlement Road.) For more, see the River Country Journal article “Local artist in “Painted Sanctuary” show set to debut at Kalamazoo Art Hop Friday“. Artists featured in the “Painted Sanctuary” show are Susan Badger, Kathryn Barnes, Barbara Berens, Doug Chambers, Barbara Childs, Kathleen Crane, Judith Farmer, Lori Feldpausch, Alec Hall, Christine Hartzell, Richard Jordan, Jerry Kollig, Carrie Lin, Juanita Lockwood, Karen VanDam Michmerhuizen, Kathy Mohl, Patti Mollema, Lisa Olivarez, Rich Onica, Mike Pendola, Cinda Price, Joy Richmond, Barb Schilling, Brian M. Smith, Sharon Griffes Tarr, Bart Woloson, and Don Zenas.

A calendar of paintings included in the “Painted Sanctuary” show (which makes an excellent gift to show off the beauty of Southwest Michigan) is available at Love Your Mother, 39 North Main Street, downtown Three Rivers, or through the SWMLC.
