Three Rivers Artists Guild member Christine Hartzell will have watercolor paintings on display at Friday’s Art Hop in Kalamazoo, as part of the “Painted Sanctuary” show put on by the Plein Air Artists of West Michigan. All of the paintings in the show were done “en plein air” — that is, out of doors — in preserves of the Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy, including several painted at the Hidden Marsh Sanctuary in Three Rivers.

The “Painted Sanctuary” show is of interest to anyone who enjoys the natural world of west Michigan,  as well as art-lovers.

Artwork is in various media, including oil, acrylic, pastel, and watercolor. West Michigan plein air artists with works in the show include Wanda Aikens, Joe Brown, Kathy Crane, Mary K. Dagley, Judith Farmer, Christine Hartzell, Evan Jordan, Richard Jordan, Kathleen Kalinowski, Helen Kleczynski, Jerry Kollig, John Kollig, Carrie Lin, Dave Middleton, Kathy Mohl, Lisa Olivarez, Mike Pendola, Barb Schilling, Brian Smith, Holly Sturges, and Don Zenas.

Painted Sanctuary” will be on the second floor of the Park Trades Building (in the photo), on the corner of Park and Kalamazoo in downtown Kalamazoo, Suite 202, 326 West Kalamazoo Avenue, from 5pm to 9pm on Friday, November 6th.

Parking along streets near the Park Trades Center is FREE after 5 p.m. NOTICE: Kalamazoo Ave. and Park St. are one-way streets.
