Michigan Council for the Arts Fund (before you do your taxes…)

This year for the first time we Michiganders can donate $5 or $10 of tax refunds directly to the Michigan Council for the Arts Fund by using form 4642 with our State of Michigan tax returns. The contributions are returned to local communities and non-profit organizations in the form of grants. The Michigan Council for the Arts offers grants and mini-grants to nonprofit organizations to support a wide variety of programs in the arts throughout the state of Michigan. For more information about the Michigan Council for Arts, see its webpages at www.michigan.gov/arts.

The 4642 form, the “2009 Michigan Voluntary Contributions Schedule”, may be downloaded here:
www.michigan.gov/documents/taxes/4642_305375_7.pdf.

The form itself lists all of the Michigan programs that can be donated to in this way.
