Last night (Tuesday, May 4) was the opening and awards for the 32nd annual Three Rivers High School show. Well attended and a lovely show, it was juried by Kim Glessner. At 7pm the awards were distributed. The sponsors gathered in a receiving line in the Main Gallery, and the award recipients shook hands with each sponsor while one of the teachers provided commentary. The Three Rivers Artists Guild sponsored two awards of $50 each. They went to Amerada Banks, Three Rivers HS 12th grade, for an excellent large graphite drawing, and Brianna Smith, for an unusual sculptural clay piece (which the teacher said that she struggled with for some weeks!)
In addition, Guild member Pam Davidson and her husband Roger offered a $50 award for Artistic Design, awarded to Kelay Jacks. Pam and Roger also represented the Three Rivers Artists Guild at the reception, thank you so much!
The Guild was happy to be a sponsor of this event. Please visit the show and continue to support our area’s young artists. The show is open until June 2.
