KIA Show opens April 9

Three Rivers photographer Becky Hackenberg’s photograph “Marsh Ice” has been juried into the 2010 West Michigan Area Show at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. The show runs from April 10 to May 30, 2010. “Since the 1960s, this annual exhibition has showcased the exceptional work of area artists in all media. ”

The show opens with the Show Reception and Awards Ceremony on Friday, April 9th, from 5:30pm – 7:30pm. The Awards Ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. with over $5,000 in prizes to be awarded. Be there or be square!

WMAS 2010 Juror Gladys Nilsson will give an Artist Talk at the KIA on Monday, April 5 at 7 p.m. More on the KIA website, www.kiarts.org.

Outdoor Sculpture Show in Chelsea

Announcing the “call” for artists to enter the 2nd annual “SculptureWalk Chelsea” in Chelsea, MI, deadline April 30. More details and the application can be found at www.chelsearivergallery.com.

River Gallery is seeking submissions for the 2nd annual “SculptureWalk Chelsea” The selected sculptures will be placed in high profile locations, outdoors in the heart of historic Chelsea. Artists are invited to submit up to 3 works. Each artist selected will receive a $300 compensation. A “Best in Show” of $500 will be awarded by the jurors.

The event will launch June 17, 2010 with a reception at River Gallery Fine Art. Call the gallery if you have questions.
